RHS taking food basket applications

Rural Human Services will start taking applications for Holiday Baskets beginning Nov. 26 and will collect them through Dec. 13.

There will be applications in English, Spanish and Hmong. They can be picked up and dropped off at RHS, 286 M St., from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m. Applicants will be notified on Dec. 17 and 18 if they are chosen to receive a food box. Applicants need to bring photo ID and proof of income to apply.


Members of the Del Norte County Boy Scouts Council will be going house to house passing out flyers asking for donations for the Winter Food Drive on Dec. 3. They will be picking up food items Dec. 10 and delivering them to the Food Bank.

Food or cash donations can be dropped off at Rural Human Services.

Boxes will be put together  Dec. 19 and distributed Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
