Raffle held for ‘Year of Pampering’

Raffle tickets are on sale now through the end of December to help raise funds for the purchase of new uniforms for the Del Norte High School Marching Band.

Haley Rutter, a hairstylist at Your Salon, 118 W. Washington Blvd., is offering a year of hair services to the winning ticket holder. Only 200 tickets are being sold at $20 apiece.

According to Rutter, the uniforms are older than the kids wearing them.

“These 23-year-old uniforms are being held together with staples, duct tape and suspenders,” she said. “New uniforms will cost $30,000.”

Rutter’s “Year of Pampering” consists of 12 full makeovers. Every four weeks, the winner can get a haircut, coloring, deep conditioning treatment, blow dry and styling plus a year’s supply of shampoo, conditioner, styling aids and hairspray.

Of the 200 tickets to be sold, there are no limits on how many an individual can purchase.

On the back of each ticket is a $5 coupon, and can be redeemed whether it’s a winning ticket or not.
