Honored by Fair BoardI would like to thank the Del Norte County Fair Board Members and manager, Randy Hatfield, for honoring me as the Volunteer of the Year 2012. It was quite an honor and surprise. I just want you to be aware that I am not, nor have I ever been, a school teacher, just a local gal who attended all eight grades at Smith River Grammar School and all four grades of Del Norte High, graduating in 1943. I would not be able to run the old Redwood School #2 if it weren’t for all the volunteers who help me each year during fair time. We all enjoy keeping the school house open all four days of the fair. We hope to see you all next year at the fair, and don’t forget to visit the school house. Thanks again for honoring me as Volunteer of the Year. Phyllis Tedsen |
