Need a little kick-starter to  the holiday season?

The Del Norte Sunrise Rotary Club has just the thing for you.

Saturday, Nov. 2, will mark its seventh annual Taste of the Holidays from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Crescent City Cultural Center, 1001 Front St.

This event not only raises funds for scholarships and community projects, but it gives regional businesses a chance to showcase their wares, from main dishes to salads to pastries to soups, as well as locally produced beer and wine.

“It’s a little bit of everything,” said Fran McNamara, Rotary member and co-chair for the event.

She said that last year’s event was the club’s most successful to date.

“We were able to give out $5,500 in scholarships,” she said. Each year it also provides new dictionaries to every third-grade student in Del Norte. “Everything goes back into the community one way or the other,” she said.

Tickets for the event cost $25 and can be purchased at the Chart Room, Del Norte Office Supply or at the door. There’ll also be a silent auction and a 50/50 drawing.
