Thank You: Business, community members help youth event

The Coastal Connections Youth Council would like to thank the following businesses and community members in making our “3rd Annual Summer Kick Off: Celebrating Youth Culture” a success: Walmart, Home Depot, Java Hut, Rob’s Barber Shop, Perlita’s Authentic Mexican Restaurant, Los Compadres Mexican Food, Cutting Loose, McDonald’s, Shear Joy Salon, Erik Apperson, Rachel Patterson, Erica Moore, Alisa’s Custom Coffee, Building Healthy Communities, the California Center For Rural Policy and the Del Norte County Fairgrounds.

We had over 220 participants between the ages of 16 and 25 at the event held June 7 at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds. Youth participated in and enjoyed motivational speakers, dance battles, a youth art show, cultural performances, henna body art, a gyro sphere, local youth performers, food, information booths and job opportunities. Thanks to our community, many youth were able to go home with a raffle prize as a souvenir of this great youth event.

Thank you.
