Thank You: Many people made triathlon possible

On behalf of the Crescent City Triathlon Organizing Team, I would like to thank the many volunteers for making our Aug. 17 event possible.

I also want to thank Tom Latimer at Back Country Bicycles for donating a Trek mountain bike that was given away in a special drawing.

A special thank you as well to our many sponsors that enabled us to have a professional timing company time our event. Each participant wore a timing chip on their ankle that produced times for all three segments of the race as well as finishing times.

Our major sponsors were Crescent City Internal Medicine, Del Norte Office Supply, Pacific Northwest Physical Therapy, Redwood Medical Offices, Sutter Coast Hospital and Clinics, Bayside Realty, California Correctional Peace Officers Association, Renner Petroleum, Four Paws Pet Hospital, Hemmingsen Contracting Co., Java Hut Espresso Bar, 101 Laundromat and Dry Cleaners, The Club–Fitness, Pacific Vision Medical Center, Red Sky Roofing, Redwood Leavitt Insurance and Alexandre Eco Dairy Farms.

Business donors included Wayne Bolman Dist., Cliff Bar, SPIBelt, Road ID, ism Saddles, Safeway, Walgreens, Tim Ponder at Infinity Salon and Spa and Stephania’s Massage.

Special support came from Ron Gastineau, Darren McElfresh, Ashleigh Speaker and Mike Zingg.

Russ Burnette,

Crescent City Triathlon race director
