Trails will be closed in some National and State Parks

Culvert replacement work will require the closure of several trails in Redwood National and State Parks during portions of September and October.

Beginning Tuesday, the Forty-Four Creek Loop trail, part of the Orick horse trail system, will be closed to replace a culvert. The work is scheduled to be completed in three weeks and the trail reopened by Oct. 2.

The Streelow Creek trail will be closed for approximately one month starting Sept. 16. A culvert will be removed and replaced with a bridge to better accommodate significant rainfall events and reduce the risk of failure. Streelow Creek trail is located just south of the Prairie Creek campground complex and links Davison Road with Davison trail.
