Tickets are on sale now for Britt’s third annual summer fundraising event. The “Best of Britt” will be Thursday, June 26, on the Britt hill in Jacksonville, Ore., and will feature headlining artist Jake Shimabukuro, who is widely acclaimed as an inventive master of the ukulele. Proceeds from the fundraiser benefit Britt’s music education programs.
Jake Shimabukro has won accolades from the disparate likes of Rolling Stone Magazine, Eddie Vedder, Perez Hilton and Dr. Sanjay Gupta and has earned comparisons to Jimi Hendrix and Miles Davis. His work has gained worldwide recognition through a documentary about his life called “Life on Four Strings,” which won the Audience Awards at both New York City’s Gotham Independent Film Awards and the Ashland Independent Film Festival in 2013. He returns to Britt after an acclaimed performance in 2013.
The Best of Britt benefit is an evening of food, wine and music on the Britt hill. Tickets include a reserved seat to the concert, food from ten restaurants, and tastings from up to 20 local wineries. The evening is rounded out with an auction of Britt-themed packages, including a guitar signed by artists from the 2013 Britt lineup, special dinner and wine packages.
Proceeds from the Best of Britt benefit will help support Britt’s music education and engagement programs, which include summer music camps, elementary school music listening programs, workshops, college internships and the new “World of Work” program with the Medford School district.
Tickets for the “Best of Britt” are $85 per person, and are on sale to the general public now. Tickets can be purchased from the Britt box office at 541-773-6077, at 1-800-882-7488, or in person at 216 W. Main Street in Medford.
