Promote Our Pool (POP) will hold its second annual Run For the Pool fundraiser Saturday.
Registration starts at 10 a.m. and the run at 11 a.m. at Endert Municipal Pool on Front Street.
Participants can choose a course based upon their abilities: a half-, 1- or 2-mile, 5k or 10k. All distances start and finish at the pool.
The shorter routes will finish with runners wading across Elk Creek, behind the pool.
“Grownups love it just as much as the kids,” said run organizer Scott Lindsay. “The stream should be pretty low.”
Cost is $10 per person and includes a ribbon of completion and a one-day pool pass. The run is open to all ages.
Promote Our Pool Foundation is a nonprofit organization devoted to raising money for Endert Pool and awareness of issues related to water activities.
Funds raised from Saturday’s fun-run will help POP to continue its swim scholarship program. Forms are available at the pool for families needing financial assistance for swim lessons.
“The run is a healthy activity supporting other healthy activities,” said Susan Roberts, POP Foundation director. “It is great when they overlap, affect all ages and all abilities.”
“We hope people come out and enjoy their health and be active,” said Lindsay.
