The Utah Legacy Bus Tour rolls into Jedediah Smith Redwoods park Thursday, bringing 13 young riders to continue a two-month journey that promotes public service and the legacy of Congressman Morris K. Udall across the nation.
Riders who left Washington, D.C. June 12 have spent the summer helping to replant trees, develop campgrounds and exploring national parks through photography.
At Jed Smith park they'll tour the park, cameras in hands, learning ecology and other subjects as they go.
Tour participants ride on a vehicle said to be the first motor coach approved by the University of Vermont's pilot "Green Coach Certification" program.
It's fueled by a blend of 20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent ultra low sulfur diesel
Tour organizers have purchased carbon offsets through Native Energy to make the tour carbon-neutral.
