On Jan. 13, 2007, the community of Del Norte was stricken with grief at the news of the death of freshman Joshua Angel Lacy, age 15. Joshua was the victim of a hit-and-run on Jan. 12, and died from being left out in the cold with his injury. The driver of the vehicle, a red or maroon color with damage to the front end, is still at large.
