Letters: Agencies need to find more equitable ways to fund needs

Some local public agencies are again wanting to create new ballot measures that, if adopted, would tax parcels according to their amounts of assessed valuations.

In California, because of Proposition 13, we know that assessed valuations of homes sold "recently" far exceed assessed valuations of homes sold earlier, or never.

Recent buyers are more likely to be victims of sub-prime loans/scams and would become newly taxed, double, triple, quadruple and more, than their neighbors.

Voters, please tell local agencies to find a more equitable method to fund unforeseen needs.
