Letters: California Legislature needsto focus on fiscal matters

Who says our California Legislature is inept and incompetent?

Just because it has failed in its constitutional responsibilities in presenting the governor with a budget, it has just proven its competence in presenting him with a far more important bill for signing. AB2567 would add yet another homosexual mandate for California's schools to incorporate into their increasingly LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender)-laden mandated curriculum.

If Gov. Schwarzenneger does not veto the legislation, our California schools will enshrine the martyred San Francisco supervisor, Harvey Milk, as the patron saint of homosexuality, for our children's adoration in the form of Harvey Milk Day. Messrs. Washington and Lincoln move over, you've got company.

I guess there is something special about LGBT in the hearts of Democrat legislators as they passed this essential legislation 22-13, along party lines. It seems possible to this reader/writer that now maybe the California Legislature can get around to wrestling with the more mundane problem of fiscal matters.
