Letters: Children of working parents can be productive citizens

This letter is in response to Stephanie La Torre's letter to the editor ("Gangster rap's negativity and an alternative to day care," Aug. 7). She states that staying at home with your children and not working leads to the children becoming productive members of society. I am a mother who worked outside the home to increase my family's income and both of my daughters are productive members of society. One is a high school biology teacher with a master's degree and the other is starting college this fall. So, as you can see, Mrs. La Torre, children from working mothers can become productive members of society. Dawn Messer Crescent City |
