Letters: DNHS grad thanks thosewho give to scholarship funds

I am a 2003 Del Norte High School graduate and now a UC Santa Barbara graduate. I would like to say thank you to all the Crescent City residents who have given their time and donations to help raise money for scholarships from this community. I recently graduated with my teaching credential and master's degree in education and it was the money I received from your scholarships that allowed me to do so. Beginning in August, I will be teaching biology at Newbury Park High School in Southern California, which will allow me to give back to future generations of students. Please remember, if you are ever asked to donate for cow chip bingo or a spaghetti feed, your generous donations will be investing in future teachers, doctors, accountants and a number of other occupations that enable our community to function properly.
