Letters: Democrats have been cause of many of America's problems

I'm sure everyone has noticed that anything that has come along that was bad for our country was blamed on our president, George W. Bush. Do the Democrats, war protesters and Bush-haters think it helps our country by saying our president started an illegal war in Iraq? This is a pure distortion of facts.

Congress voted to invade Iraq with the same intelligence that our president received. The whole world said Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction, and that he had poison gas which he used to kill 100,000 of his own people and in the war with Iran.

Whether Saddam had other weapons of so-called mass destruction, who knows and who cares? We got rid of a world leader of terrorists, and his two sons were just as bad. Saddam was paying suicide bombers to kill people in Israel, was shooting at our airplanes, defied 17 resolutions by the United Nations, so our Congress voted to invade Iraq.

The world will be better with a free Iraq. After 9/11, 91 percent of our people said go after the terrorists, and that is what our country did. Our president has had three wars to fight—Iraq, Afghanistan and the Democrats, the latter being the worst.

I can't think of one thing the Democrats have done to help our country of our president. The newly-elected Democratic congress is a joke. In the two years in control, gasoline prices have more than doubled, the housing catastrophe, job losses, the war is still going, maybe that is why they have an approval rating of 9 percent—more than I thought it should be.

Now the Democrats say that drilling for oil won't help our energy crisis. It sure helped the guys sitting on camels. If Gore and Clinton had done anything that made sense in the eight years of their rule, like maybe an energy policy, it would have helped.

They watched our country being struck eight times and didn't do anything to protect our country. I really believe this caused 9/11, and 3,000 of our people to die. The Democrats should not criticize George Bush. He has kept our country free of any more terrorist attacks since 9/11 and we are fighting the terrorists and winning the war in Iraq.
