As the developer of the Coasta Norte project, I would like to thank all of the people and organizations that supported our efforts in obtaining approvals for the project from the Crescent City Planning Commission. I believe that the significant changes to the project made in response to the community input demonstrate our desire to work in harmony on this property.
These changes include: reducing the total number of units by 14 percent, increasing on-site parking by 19 percent, adding a medical office component, moving the building further from Third and A Street, and a number of architectural changes to the building to give it more of a coastal feel. These changes were all done in direct response to community input, for which I am thankful for.
Coasta Norte will provide numerous benefits to the community including over $266,000 in new property taxes on the site, over $17 million in construction spending, over $4,200,000 in annual economic value to the area, and over $1,869,000 in increased tourist revenue, all while increasing property values. These benefits, along with numerous others, will cause no significant impact on the environment and reduce traffic from the previous clinic use.
As the project moves forward we look forward to working with the community, organizations and individuals to further refine the project in a way the respects the community, its coast line and provides a positive economic asset and momentum for the city.
I am always open to constructive ideas on how to better the project, and look forward to further support and community involvement in making Coasta Norte the most luxurious condominium and time share project on the Northern California Coast.
