Letters: McClure: Vote for me to further vision of flourishing county

As Election Day nears, I thank all of my constituents in the 2nd District for allowing me to serve them as county supervisor, and for their generous outpouring of ideas and support. It has been such a pleasure to speak with some of you again at the door. I am gratified that my support comes from people of all political affiliations and means.

I love this work, and I am enormously proud of the progress that we are making together as a community. I grew up here, and the neighborhoods I represent are the same ones I lived in as a child. My husband's and my livelihoods are here; our children attend local schools. Del Norte County's future is our future.

With your support, I have been able to make our streets and roads safer, improve access to health care, protect our quality of life, create jobs and add senior and youth programs—all while keeping the county budget balanced.

To carry out my commitment to the people of my district and the county, I have always relied on the principles of diligence and fairness, and used my research abilities to find solutions based on consensus and to cultivate partnerships that enhance the prosperity of our community.

The many successful projects I shepherded throughout the county—getting a much-needed traffic light at Washington and Arlington; setting up senior lunch programs and home health services; helping fund and establish the Boys and Girls Club; improving bus services; establishing the fire truck and building at the airport and creating an airport plan that provides orderly and affordable improvements—are just a few of the accomplishments that attest to my credibility.

If you share my vision of a flourishing Del Norte County where we and our families are safe, healthy, well-educated and fulfilled, I need your vote on Tuesday.
