Letters: Noisy motorcyclists likely know they are inconsiderate

Wende Owen in her letter to the Daily Triplicate on June 18 asks if loud motorcyclists know how they are hated for making excessive noise. A rhetorical question, perhaps, but worth exploring.

Hate is a strong word. In all of my 72 years, I have never really hated anyone except a bully in grade school who was a couple of years bigger than I, and these people riding loud motorcycles. The school bully I don't think about much anymore, but these motorcycle bullies keep coming back.

Understand that I am not talking about people that ride responsibly on properly muffled machines. I'm talking about the wannabe Hell's Angels making noise at the level of a big rig Jake break or artillery fire.

You would think they would be aware of what they are doing.

I think they know. And I suspect they are not going to stop on their own. Maybe reading Wende's or my letter will help. I doubt it. I wonder if a highway patrolman has ever written a ticket for motorcycle noise?
