Letters: Obama not as progressiveas many voters seem to think

Patriotic Republicans should vote for Bob Barr for president and Democrats should vote for Ralph Nader or Cynthia McKinney of the Green Party.

Barack Obama is not so progressive. When questioned in a Fortune Magazine interview about his promise to renegotiate NAFTA to protect workers and the environment, Obama replied, "Sometimes during campaigns the rhetoric gets overheated."

In a speech to AIPAC, he moved to the right of Israel's government by ruling out negotiations with Hamas. A day earlier, Obama had told Cuban exile groups that he would only sit down with Raul Castro if the exiles had a seat at the table, a precondition Cuba will never agree to.

Obama said he would oppose and filibuster the fascist wiretapping Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, but then he voted for it.

Obama has the audacity to flip-flop and change ... his mind.
