Letters: Police appear to have acted appropriately in recent arrest

The lead article in Tuesday's Triplicate ("Local man assaults officers," July 24) was about a local chap assaulting police officers. If Nicholas Grube reported the incident correctly, it would appear as if the officers acted exactly as they should have in subduing the assailant.

In last Saturday's paper, the headline concerned a protest of police brutality as the result of that assault ("Locals protest police brutality," July 28).

In has been my observation that regardless of the offense, every mother feels her child should be apprehended with a butterfly net.

Like it or not, every now and then someone's little darling needs to be tasered.
