Letters: Skateboard Committee to address skate park issues

As chair of the county Skate Board Park, I want to thank Lucky Syphanthong and the other members of the Stuck In Crescent City Skate Board Association for taking their time to make our park a better place to enjoy the sport of skateboarding.

Over the summer, the County Skateboard Committee will have a series of meetings to address a number of problems that the former committee never addressed. We may be updating the rules for the park: No helmet, no skating.

We are thinking about some design changes to the park. In the language of the skating population, "making the flow better." There is the ongoing problem of maintaining the park. People have to understand the county is not totally responsible for its upkeep. the time has come for the community to step up again.

I would like to suggest that maybe the next Redwood Mural Society project should be in the skate park. Art by kids. What a concept.
