Letters: Supervisor Finigan haspositively impacted Del Norte |
My support for the re-election of David Finigan is based on my 11 and-a-half-year association with him. I met David when he was elected to the board in 1996. At that time, I was director of county Mental Health. Over a period of those years, I had countless interactions and dialogs with David, not only around human service considerations, but the entire depth and breadth of issues affecting Del Norte County. Then and now, I remain impressed with David's knowledge base, his investment, his engagement, his conscientiousness, his leadership and his significant cultivation of and interaction with influential political and business figures, making him able to positively impact Del Norte County and its citizens. Certainly, though, our most common affinity is our deep commitment to, and the promotion of, the health and well-being of our county's children and families. As founding members of First 5 Del Norte, David and I, along with our fellow commissioners, spent innumerable hours visioning, brainstorming, collaborating and creating the opportunity for the development of programs and services that ultimately enrich and improve the lives of our most important resourcesour children and families. Over these years, I have developed a genuine fondness and respect for David; hence, my unwavering support for his re-election to the Board of Supervisors. You could not choose a more able, caring and dedicated steward. Mick Miller Crescent City |
