Letters: The real story can be foundat new teen center |
I was dismayed by the two letters that appeared in The Triplicate on Friday regarding Bill Stamps Jr. We can all express opinions about medical marijuana and Mr. Stamps into infinity. Meanwhile, in my opinion, some community members and letter writers are not seeing the forest for the trees. It is a "fact" rather than an "opinion" that the Stamps family is the sole financial benefactor to date for The Boundary Teen Club at the fairgrounds. After several decades of opinions, meetings and comments about our need for such a center, here it is. It saddens me that an incident in Mr. Stamps' personal life warrants letters when the teen club does not. Where are the letters to the editor talking about the sectional furniture, big screen TVs, tables and chairs and fresh paint he provided for our club? Come to the Floral Building from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday (closed July 4). We have a safe place for our teens to hang out and enjoy activities this summer. Then write a letter to the editor of this newspaper thanking the Stamps family for their efforts. That is the real story. Rosalie Leaberry The Boundary Teen Club Crescent City |
