Letters: Thoughts on local, national candidates ahead of election |
With only 53 days left before Election Day, I suppose my No. 1 wish is that everyone will be registered to vote. I won't be evasive about how I'll vote for president Obama! For too many reasons to state, I'll just say America is at a crossroads and he alone is head and shoulders above McCain. In seeing the big picture, I say this even though I'm a registered Republican. At our local level, although I'm a county resident, I've attended city meetings for over 20 years and have never seen a more pivotal moment to move our city forward and send a clear message that we've had enough. As for the incumbents: Mike Scavuzzo, thanks for your years of service, but you've stayed years too long. Concerning Mr. Enea (he's the poster boy for the good old boy's rubbing our noses in that our votes don't seem to count), again, enough and hopefully tootaloo, Mr. Enea. As for the new candidates running for City Council, what a great opportunity for change and apparently high caliber and commitment good luck! And lastly, Joei Sanchez for city clerk she's my dream come true and the old boy's worst nightmare go Joei! Bottom line: vote (agree with me or not). Jim Snow Crescent City |
