Transient Occupancy Tax should fund visitor’s bureau in perpetuity
This letter is in reference to the City Council meeting at which the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) will be addressed.
I am requesting that 25 percent of the proceeds from TOT go to an independent Visitor’s Bureau in perpetuity.
This is common practice in adjacent communities and has proven to pay off in increased tourism and, therefore, increased income for the community and the city's coffers. Our beautiful city deserves to reap the benefits that increased tourism naturally brings and I believe this request merits serious consideration by all City Council members.
