Support the recall because fluoride is poisoning us

Recently I became aware of the dangers of fluoride in our drinking water. It’s ironic that the city water I’ve been drinking for the past 25 years might have caused my illness, fibromyalgia, which started 20 years ago.

The symptoms for fluoride poisoning and fibromyalgia are almost identical. Every day is a challenge for me. My body feels like I am bruised all over to the bone and the recovery time for each exertion is usually triple the time as the job I am trying to do. I can’t believe that the city is actually paying to put this poison in our water!

When I read that the majority of the City Council did not support the removal of fluoride from our drinking water, I was enraged. I support the recall!

We need people like Westfall who care for senior citizens

I recently received another water and sewer bill with the new increase.

I say, I am definitely on Donna Westfall’s side on the recall of City Council members. By our silence we are giving our implied consent to the unauthorized taking of our money just to keep water and sewer for our homes.

There are a large number of older residents and retired people who never thought that we would have to pay for new updated sewer and expansion for new businesses and housing developments. I would guess that there are a large number of retired timber company people who retired on a fixed income. I retired in 1991 and my retirement money has not increased one penny since then.

I don’t recall ever giving anyone permission to keep raising rates on our water and sewer system. I am reasonably sure that people who do not benefit from expanded sewer lines and updating the plant would not vote to pay for all of this.

I say let all of these new developers and businesses foot all costs of the new lines and expanding the sewer plant for more volume.

All of us older residents paid for, or are paying for, the costs in our area.

We really need more people like Donna Westfall to oversee these people who don’t have any feeling for senior citizens. Rates should be dropped for senior citizens.

Go for the recall, Donna. I will sign as a paying, but bitter, person who knows that we are not being treated fairly.
