Rick Sanchez’s comments expose hypocrisy in the mediaHow come all the Obama supporters in the mainstream media are cracking up these days? Is the pressure getting to them? The example of Rick Sanchez comes to mind. It is just classic. Rick Sanchez was on CNN three hours a day, but this genius complained about being discriminated against because he was Hispanic. Never mind the fact that Rick Sanchez isn’t any smarter than Ted Baxter and that he was promoted over people like Lou Dobbs at CNN.CNN once claimed that Lou Dobbs didn’t fit in because he was too opinionated. What? All Rick Sanchez ever did on CNN was to offer his stupid opinions. It’s OK to give your opinion when you support Obama and the Democrats. Rick Sanchez is a loser. CNN claims to be a hard news organization even though its goes around hiring people like Rick Sanchez and Elliot Spitzer. Everybody else is a racist and a bigot, according to Rick Sanchez. Everybody but him. A guy like Rick Sanchez claims to be for civil rights but that clown isn’t any different than Louis Farrakhan or David Duke. I am sure those guys would completely agree with Rick Sanchez about Jews controlling the media. I am so sick and tired of the lie about Jews controlling the media. People like Rick Sanchez should grow up and join the 21st Century. Funny how a guy like Rick Sanchez refused to touch the story about Mexico building a fence on their southern border. Apparently Guatemalans are willing to do the jobs Mexicans are not willing to do. I wonder if Hillary Rodham and Barry Obama are going to complain to the United Nations about the vicious human rights violations of Mexico. Barry Obama and Hillary Rodham will surely do the right thing. It’s not like they are a couple of two-faced, hypocritical politicians who want to make tens of millions of illegal immigrants legal so they will vote Democrat. That would be cynical, that would be wrong. Do you think it is ironic that Mexico is building a fence? I kind of think that is a little bit ironic. Joe Thomas Crescent City Glaring factual errors in letter about bank transaction tax billThe Triplicate failed to exercise its right to correct the glaring factual errors in Mario de Solenni’s letter (“Transaction tax would take $100 from $5,000 bank deposit,” Nov. 6) about socialism. First, HR4646 was introduced by Chakkah Fattah, a congressman from Connecticut. Second, senators do not introduce nor co-sponsor bills in the House. Third, President Obama’s finance team has not addressed this issue, most likely because it was sent to committee to die. Fourth is an omission. This tax is intended to replace federal income tax with credits going to those who make less than $250,000 per year. When the idea was first floated in 2004 it was intended to generate more revenue to pay for big government but now is intended to pay for all the Republican giveaways to rich foreign investors, off-shore banks, foreign sovereign wealth funds, foreign oil, foreign energy, foreign armies, foreign countries including their current master, the Peoples Liberation Army of China, which owns every dollar we have given them. Thanks to Mario for suggesting we keep our eyes and ears open. In today’s politically charged dialogue this is not enough. We must challenge all the too easily repeated mis-information. We have the technology. Use it. God bless America, support our soldiers and our veterans. Michael Hutchinson Crescent City Contingency plan could have gotten vote results out soonerI was amazed to read last week that the County Clerk was going out of town and the final election ballot results would have to wait until she returned. While I understand that this was an anticipated personal trip that could not be rescheduled, surely a contingency plan should have been in place that would have enabled the ballot count to be finalized and the election results posted and certified. Does this then mean that ALL votes cast have been held up, including those for state-wide issues? If this is so, it makes us pretty irrelevant doesn’t it? Maureen Kevany-Jahn Crescent City |
