Drossel has experience in county to be good DA

Let’s make the right choice for district attorney.

We the voters of Del Norte County are in a position to get it right this election by electing Bob Drossel for our district attorney. We need a DA who knows our community needs and the problems we face.

Bob has lived and worked in Del Norte County for the past 17 years. Bob was the DA from 1999–2002 in Del Norte County and did a great job. The people in the District Attorney’s Office respect and worked well with Bob. Bob was the special prosecutor for Del Norte County from 1999–1998 and 2008–2010.

Bob has a keen perspective regarding our drug problems as he was the supervising deputy DA on the Butte County Narcotics Task Force for five years. Bob has been a civil attorney and criminal defense attorney, which gives him the knowledge to put a case together that will bring a conviction in a timely manner. Bob also has a zero-tolerance policy regarding senior and child abuse issues, including bullying.

Bob has secured the endorsement of Victims United of California, based on his strong stand for the rights of victims of all crimes.

Bob started his career as a police officer in Azusa and Pacifica for eight years before becoming a DA investigator for two years in Kings County. We need a DA who knows our community and has lived and worked with all the law enforcement agencies in our community.

Bob’s competition has only lived here for 14 months. There is really no comparison. His competition has only 1½ years experience in a DA office that was in another state. We need a DA with the experience already in hand. Bob will start the job running, not trying to get to know our community and its issues first.

Bob Drossel is the person we need in Del Norte County for our district attorney. Let’s make the right choice and vote Bob Drossel for district attorney.

Already paying more than fair share for sewer

Last year I lost my husband and also lost a good portion of my income. If it weren’t for my family helping out, I wouldn’t be able to stay in my home.

I won’t bother going to City Council meetings because I don’t think they care what I have to say. If they did care, they wouldn’t be putting the burden of our expensive sewer system on the backs of the ratepayers.

We’re paying more than our fair share because we’re not supposed to pay for expansion. As far as I can see, every time I drive past the sewer plant all I can think about is they built themselves a new plant at our expense. This wasn’t about a little expansion. I may be a senior, but I’m not that gullible.

Now that I know Donna Westfall is handling the protest against this newest sewer rate increase, I’m going to sit down and have a good visit with her. She’s the only one who ever listened to me. One of these days we’re going to win the protest. Then the city will have to look somewhere else for their money.

Fair is fair. The city does not play fair.
