Rare bird found at Tule Lake
An Emperor goose, a species infrequently seen in California, was captured on the Tule Lake Refuge this week by Department of Fish and Game personnel.
The bird, an immature male, had been crippled by shot. It was taken to Gray Lodge Waterfowl Management Area near Gridley where it was placed in an exhibit pen.
