Warrior Memories: Former DN Warrior Bill Richardson

When I look back at this former Warrior, there are really fun things to write about.

First, this standout basketball and baseball player played for two of my favorite coaches. When Bill Richardson was at Crescent Elk my dad was his coach and when he went to Del Norte High, Wally Maciel had Bill all four years in both basketball and baseball. Wally will always be one of my favorite people.

Bill was an unusual basketball player in that his size allowed him to play lightweight basketball all four years. He made all-league in basketball during his sophomore, junior and senior years. He could have played heavyweight during his senior year but really enjoyed playing for Wally.
