It’s fun to look back at home- grown Warriors who have worn both the red and white and the blue and gold of Del Norte High School.
Rod Griffin, a 1953 graduate, was one of those. When Rod entered Del Norte as a freshman in 1949, the Warriors were in their last year of wearing red and white.
Rod started putting his mark on the Warriors’ sports picture in his freshman year. He started out playing varsity football and was a varsity letterman for four years. He was an intelligent, tough young athlete who could play, and play well, at any position. During his first three years he played as a lineman, then as a senior he was moved to quarterback.
