As we started this new school year, we not only started with a new head football coach, but also a new athletic director. Tony Fabricius has stepped into that position.
Tony is not new to our district as he has worked here since 1993. He is a 1987 graduate of Santa Teresa High School in San Jose. While there he was a standout football player. After graduation he enrolled at Shasta College in Redding, where he continued his football career. After Shasta he went to Chico State. He had the misfortune of arriving at Chico the same year they decided to drop their football program.
He stayed at Chico and received his teaching credential and came to work teaching at Del Norte High School. He immediately went to work in the Warrior football program as an assistant to coach Lewis Nova. When coach Nova gave up his position the first time, Tony was named the new head coach, a position he held for four years.
Tony had a goal of becoming a school administrator, which he did, and served three years as principal at Joe Hamilton Elementary. His love of coaching was still there and during his last year at Joe Hamilton he again assisted coach Nova as a Warrior coach.
