Warrior Memories: Warrior athlete and coach Terry Vance

Played major role in getting the word out on Cody Hoffman to BYU

One of the real joys that I get from doing these articles is being able to look back at some of the special former Warriors I have had the pleasure of working with. Terry Vance is definitely one of those.

Terry was a 1984 Del Norte High School graduate. While at Del Norte he was involved in football, basketball, and track. Terry combined speed, great athletic ability and a super attitude to make him a stand out in all three sports.

During his junior year he helped Del Norte win their first football championship in the modern era and secure their first trip to the North Coast Sections Championships.

The Warriors were scheduled to play the number one seed Cardinal Newman Catholic High School in Santa Rosa. Terry played both offense and defense — wide receiver on offense and defensive back on defense. The Warriors lost a hard fought game 20-7 with Terry scoring the only Warrior touchdown.
