Warrior Memories: Costello still is active in local sports

It is really great to see the number of former Del Norte High School athletes who have stayed in the community and volunteer their time coaching local youth sports teams.

It seems that every time I see a youth group practicing, there is another former Warrior giving of his or her time. Jason Costello, a 1991 graduate, is another of those special ex-Warriors.

As a Warrior, Jason was an outstanding part of the high school football and basketball programs all four years he was in school. As a freshman he started right out on the JV football team playing for Warrior Hall of Famer Bill Sullivan. As a sophomore he was a big part of the 1988 junior varsity team that went undefeated scoring 256 while giving up 41. This was coach Louis Nova's first year in a head coaching position, which told of good things to come.
