The Del Norte High varsity football team went to Fortuna on Friday to take part in the annual Big 5 Conference Jamboree. The event gives each team in the Big 5 the chance to run 10 plays on offense and defense against each team. Head coach Lewis Nova said he was pleased overall with how the Warriors did. On offense, he was especially pleased with the way the offensive line opened up holes for the running game. On defense, he liked how aggressive the team was, but said there were some miscues the squad needs to work on. The Jamboree also gave the coaches a chance to line people up at different spots and see how new team members performed, Nova said. During the Jamboree, Brock Coulson suffered a shoulder injury. Nova said they were still unsure the extent of the injury Friday night. (Above) Del Norte moves the ball on offense during the Jamboree on Friday in Fortuna.
