Blue Bombers to host Tiger-Cats in East finals

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will face the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL East Division finals on Sunday.

The winner will move on to the Grey Cup, the CFL equivalent of the Super Bowl.

Starting quarterback Buck Pierce is a 2000 Del Norte High graduate.

The 10-8 Bombers won the East division and had a first round bye.

Hamilton defeated three time champ Montreal 55-44 on Sunday.

The game will begin this Sunday at 10 a.m. PDT  in Winnipeg and will be shown live on the internet on ESPN3.

Pierce missed the regular season finale with a sprained knee.

On Monday, Winnipeg head coach Paul LaPolice said it is still being determined if Pierce will play on Sunday.

“I had a talk with the training staff today and we’ll see how Buck is on Day 1. His treatment’s been going fine. He seems fine. We’ll see how he is,” LaPolice said in a story in the Winnipeg Free Press.
