CRESCENT CITY — The Del Norte High School boys Warrior soccer team, battled out a 3-3 tie with the McKinleyville Panthers during the Oct. 20 game.

"We were really coming from behind. Nobody really controlled the ball," Gilberto Gil Rodriguez, boys soccer coach at DNHS, said.

Gil Rodriguez said his players kicked it up a notch after not scoring in the beginning of the game.

"After they saw the score at 2-0, they really started to pick it up," he said.

Once the Warriors caught up to 2-1, Rodriguez decided to make some changes, to which he credited the tie.

"We really made some changes to the mid-field," he said.

Andrew Salas scored the first goal, Erwing Aguilar booted in the second and Jonathan Olvera kicked the third into the net for the final game-tying goal.
