DN baseball loses 9-1; softball no-hit in Eureka

The Del Norte baseball team fell to Eureka, 9-1, on Wednesday. Nathan Porter scored the Warriors’ only run off Ryan Gomes’ single in the sixth inning. Del Norte’s record stands at 0-11 overall on the season and 0-10 in Humboldt-Del Norte League play.

The Del Norte softball team was no-hit by Eureka on Wednesday, falling 10-0 in five innings. Coach Tom Moore praised the efforts of starting pitcher Chandler Davis, who was tagged with the loss. The Warriors are now 11-8 overall, 3-7 in HDN league play.

The Del Norte baseball and softball teams travel to Arcata for games on Friday. The softball game starts at 4 p.m.; baseball starts at 5 p.m.
