DN wrestling squad takes part at tourney

The Del Norte High wrestling team had several grapplers place at the McKinleyville High Wrestling Tournament on Saturday. Sophomore Eric Turner had a strong showing at 182 pounds, finishing in second place. At 170 pounds, veteran senior Andrew Napier and Lakey Coney, also a senior but new to the team this year, tied for third with 4-1 marks. Junior Morgan Fischer placed fourth at 132. Newcomer Austin Moore came in fourth at 220 and senior Isaac Terry placed fourth at heavyweight. Del Norte finished the tournament in sixth place with 82 points. On Friday and Saturday the Warriors will take part in a tournament in Grants Pass, Ore. |
