All 5 DNYF teams earn berths in the playoffs

The contests were played in front of a receptive group of home fans at Del Norte High School.
It was the third straight Sunday the DNYF contests were held in Crescent City.
Another positive development occurred that night when DNYF president
Lance Scribner went to the Six Rivers Youth Football Conference playoff
seeding meeting.
By the end of the meeting, all five DNYF teams had earned playoff berths.
“It feels great that all the teams have made it,” Scribner said. “It shows that we’re an up-and-coming league.”

In the DNYF single A division, the Blue squad defeated McKinleyville 25-0. The A team lost to Hoopa 19-14.
In the AA division, the Blue team downed McKinleyville White 18-14 and the Gold squad downed Hoopa 26-0.
In the AAA division, Del Norte earned a forfeit win against Hoopa.
On Sunday, the playoffs begin on the road for the local teams.
At South Fork High, the DNYF AA Gold team faces Southern Humboldt at noon. At 2 p.m., the A Gold team faces Ferndale.
At Cutten Fields in the Eureka area, the DNYF A Blue team faces Eureka Green at noon.
The DNYF AA Blue team faces Hoopa at Arcata High at 2 p.m. and the DNYF AAA team plays Redwood Youth Football at Arcata at noon.

High. Depending on the outcome of Sunday’s matches these contests could
include Del Norte teams.
