DNHS girls soccer team earns first win of 2011

After going winless with a tie for the year, things have picked up the past two games for the Del Norte Warriors girls soccer team. On Saturday, they tied Brookings-Harbor 2-2 for their second tie of the year. On Monday, they earned a 4-1 win at home against South Fork, whom they tied with earlier this year. “We’ve got a little streak going on here,” head coach Clar Byers said. A major factor was the play of senior Molly Lambert, who scored all the team’s goals. Byers also commended his defense for doing a good job containing their opponent and getting the ball back to the offense. |
