Del Norte volleyball squad downs Brookings-Harbor 3-0 |
The Del Norte High varsity volleyball team bounced back from a tough tournament performance over the weekend by defeating Brookings-Harbor High in three games on the road Tuesday night. The Warriors won 25-21, 25-23, 25-18 to improve to 6-9 overall. “They played great,” Warrior head coach Robyn Parker said. “The girls were really excited and were proud of each other.” On Friday and Saturday Del Norte went 1-6 at an elite tournament in Chico. While it was tough to take the losses, Parker believes that the team came out the better for it by having to play top-notch competition. That was on display on Tuesday night in Oregon as the Warriors did a better job in several aspects of the game, especially with passing, which has been an issue in early season play. “They did a much better job getting the ball up to their teamates,” Parker said. Keirstyn Anderson had 7 kills and 5 aces for the Warriors. Brittany Maready had 15 digs and Chandler Davis had 5 aces. Morgan Laney and Kylee Bruder each had 3 kills. In the junior varsity game Del Norte lost in two games. On Friday and Saturday the sqaud plays at a tournament in Red Bluff while the junior varsity team plays at a tournament in Chico. |
