Del Norte tennis team gains win against Eureka |
Triplicate staff The Del Norte High boys tennis team was able to squeak out a win against Eureka 5-4 on Tuesday in Crescent City. The win puts the Warriors at 6-5 for the season. No.1 Del Norte player Blake Polidore defeated Fernando Salmeron 6-1, 6-2. Warrior David Standring was victorious 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 over Vince DeGraff. Ben Tell defeated Logger Hector Ramirez 6-2, 2-6, 6-1. Tyler Pitman lost to Kyle Carbis of Eureka 6-0, 6-1. Chad Richins of Del Norte gained a 6-0, 6-1 win against Chris Hanes. Joel Bruhns was defeated by Steve Hake of Eureka 6-3, 6-4. In doubles matches, Polidore and Standring won against Salmeron and Ramirez 8-5. Alex Chou and Christian Alexandre of Del Norte lost to Carbis and Hanes 8-0. Angelo Yates and Hong Her of Del Norte fell to Hanes and Jesse Carpenter 8-0. The Warriors next play on Thursday at McKinleyville at 3:15 p.m. |
