The North Coast Tsunami Sirens demolished the Sis-Q Rollerz 153-81 during the “Babes in Skateland” roller derby bout in Medford, Ore., on Saturday.

The Sirens took the lead during the first jam and stayed ahead of the Rollerz the rest of the bout.

For several newcomers this was their first bout since training with the Sirens. Taking advantage of the Sirens’ lead, they got the opportunity to play and even try out different positions, blocking and jamming to score points.

Tanya Anderson, “Princess Thundercloud,” won MVP of the bout; Danielle Arispe, “Ragin’ Reg,” won best blocker; and Macy Bommelyn, “Macebomm,” won best jammer of the bout.

The Sirens’ next bout will be the first of the 2012 season and a doubleheader also featuring Deep Valley Belligerent, the men’s roller derby  team in Ukiah, on Feb. 18, against Mendo Mayhem from Ukiah at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds.
