The Crescent City Council on Monday will hold a public hearing on a proposed ordinance that would establish a fee schedule for emergency response to false alarms, structure fires and traffic collisions.
The ordinance is designed to be a cost-recovery measure for the city, according to City Attorney Bob Black. The staff has been researching an emergency response fee ordinance since 2009.
If passed, fees could be established for fire and police response to residential and commercial fires, motor vehicle collisions, false fire, burglary and robbery alarms and 911 hang-ups.
The Council meets at 6 p.m. in the Flynn Center, 981 H St. An agenda and staff reports can be found at www.crescentcity.org. Meetings are streamed live at http://media.co.del-norte.ca.us.
