Del Norte High’s girls soccer team was apparently happy to be playing on a dry field Monday afternoon.
After losing 1-0 on a field full of standing water Saturday at South Fork, the Warriors came home and blanked Eagle Point 3-0.
“The girls were on today,” said coach Clar Byers. “The passing was good. We were talking to each other. We played like a team should play.”
After a scoreless first half, the Warriors got a goal from Silvia Cajita about two minutes into the second half, then another by Christina Levy. Paige Pingree assisted on both goals.
Del Norte’s third goal came off a corner kick by Sabrina Gonzalez. Deleana Saylor kicked it home with an assist by Guadalupe Gonzalez.
