Grizzlies fall 8-5 attourney in Salem, Ore. |
The Del Norte Grizzlies American Legion team could not hold onto a 4-0 lead, dropping a game at a tournament in Salem, Ore., on Friday. The Grizzlies fell to the Corvallis Richey's Market 8-5 to drop to 8-19 for the season. Del Norte scored two runs in the second and two in the fourth, but could not hold onto its lead. Corvallis scored five runs in the fifth inning on its way to the victory. Del Norte head coach Eric Enos said his team did well from the plate, getting seven hits. The problem was fielding errors, especially in the shortstop position, where two players played on Friday. Enos said three errors that contributed to the squad giving up six runs came from the shortstop position. The Grizzlies play in Salem today and Sunday and will play two games at home against Southern Humboldt starting at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. |
