Hoffman and BYU down New Mexico State 42-7

The Brigham Young University Cougars soundly defeated New Mexico State 42-7 at home Saturday night.

Sophomore wide receiver Cody Hoffman, a 2009 Del Norte High graduate, had three catches for 26 yards. He also took back two kick returns for 60 yards, including a 43-yard run.

For the year, Hoffman has 698 receiving yards and six touchdowns and 778 kickoff return yards with one touchdown.

BYU has a bye week and will end the regular season at Hawaii on Dec. 3.

The Cougars have accepted an invitation to take part in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl  in Dallas on Dec. 30.
