Rilatos scores as DN ties Ferndale

The Del Norte High girls soccer team closed out its season with a 1-1 tie at Ferndale High on Wednesday. Sophomore Chantele Rilatos scored the Warriors’ lone goal, on a 35-yard free kick in the ninth minute. The Wildcats tied the score with a penalty-kick goal in the 65th minute, and neither side was able to break the tie.
“We played a very defensive game and almost pulled off a win, but it was a good note that we didn’t lose the final game of the season,” Del Norte coach Clar Byers said. The Warriors end their season with a record of 3-11-2 overall (0-8 Humboldt-Del Norte Big 5 League). |
